Youth Soccer Training in New Jersey

MDS Academy provides structured elite soccer development programs for players across New Jersey. Operating in Bergen County — serving Ridgewood, Westwood, New Milford, and Waldwick — and in Monmouth County in Marlboro and Oakhurst, our professional, licensed coaching staff delivers curriculum-driven training that develops real players. From first-time beginners to elite competitive athletes, every MDS program is built around long-term player development, not short-term results. If your player is looking for serious youth soccer training near them in New Jersey, MDS is the right place to start.

Our Player Development Philosophy — Elite Soccer Coaching NJ

At MDS Academy, we believe the best players are built through deliberate, structured practice — not volume alone. Our coaching philosophy centres on four core pillars that every MDS program is built around.

Technical ability

Ball mastery, first touch, passing quality, dribbling, and shooting are the foundation of everything. Players who are technically strong have more options in every moment of the game.

Decision making

The best technical players also make smart decisions under pressure. MDS sessions are designed to create game-realistic situations where players must read, decide, and execute — repeatedly.

Confidence on the ball

Confidence comes from repetition in a supportive, high-standards environment. MDS players take risks, try skills, and learn to compete without fear of making mistakes.

Game understanding

Understanding how to move without the ball, how to create space, and how to help your team in and out of possession is what separates good players from great ones.

Player Development Pathway

MDS Academy is designed so that players have a clear pathway as their ability and ambition grows. Every program connects to the next level of the MDS framework.

01

Foundation programs

Mini Dragons (U5–U6) and Pre-Travel Academy (U7–U8) introduce young players to structured soccer in an age-appropriate, encouraging environment.

02

Technical development

Total Training gives players aged 7–18 focused weekly sessions on technical skills and physical development, supplementing any existing club or team training.

03

Premier identification

Players who are ready for a higher challenge attend a free MDS Premier ID Session, where coaches evaluate ability and select players for the Premier program.

04

MDS Premier program

Invited players join a structured seasonal program running Fall, Winter and Spring. This is the highest level of the MDS development framework in New Jersey.

Not every player needs to follow this exact pathway. Many players use individual programs independently based on their needs and schedule. Speak with an MDS coach to find the right starting point.
